THE LOCATION
Cleeve House is conveniently situated in the serene heartland of Wiltshire, enveloped by a pristine countryside landscape with captivating views at every turn. Nestled between the charming towns of Devizes to the east, Melksham to the north, and Trowbridge to the west, our location offers an idyllic seclusion while still maintaining easy accessibility from further afield via train or the M4. With ample parking space for up to 70 vehicles and available public transport options, Cleeve House is a countryside haven for your special day.
WEDDING CEREMONY
Whether you decide to exchange your vows in the captivating beauty of our historic house, or amidst the tranquillity of our expansive grounds with picturesque vistas, your special ‘I do’ moment will be set against the beautiful backdrop of the Wiltshire countryside at Cleeve House.
We have three different rooms licensed for civil ceremonies to cater for different needs and preferences and also can hold outdoor ceremonies in the grounds. If you require assistance in liaising with Wiltshire Registration Services we are happy to assist.
THE GREAT HALL
The Great Hall is licensed for wedding ceremonies and can hold up to 100 people for the ceremony. You can choose how you would like the Hall arranged. We will work with you and your bridal party to rehearse your ceremony so that you are completely confident to walk down the aisle on your special day!
SAILSBURY ROOM
The Salisbury Room is a light airy room with huge windows and gorgeous views across the Wiltshire countryside. Up to 60 people can be accommodated on a range of table layouts. If you are having a buffet, this room works well for buffet tables with the dining in the Great Hall. It is also a great space for an evening buffet if required.
THE LIBRARY
This beautiful and elegant space provides a lounge area where guests can relax with a drink throughout the day.
THE WEDDING FUNCTION ROOMS
The Great Hall
With oak panelled walls and a beautiful high ceiling the Great Hall is an impressive and elegant room in which to enjoy your celebrations. The Great Hall can seat up to 72 people. It is a versatile space so a variety of table layouts are possible to accommodate everyone comfortably. For larger numbers, the adjacent Salisbury Room can be used for an additional 60 people. We can work with you to design a table plan to accommodate all your guests, and we will support your caterer to ensure that the room is set out exactly as you require.
Salisbury Room & The Library

As well as the Bridal Suite, a range of doubles, twins and family rooms provide comfortable overnight accommodation for up to 24 guests.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Wiltshire Wedding Venue
Cleeve House can comfortably accommodate 100 for the ceremony indoors with more capacity outdoors. For the Wedding Breakfast 132 can be seated indoors with up to 150 for dancing and evening buffet. Please contact us directly to discuss your specific needs.
Absolutely! Cleeve House is fully equipped to host both your wedding ceremony and reception.
Whilst we don’t currently have a dedicated wedding planner, we have a team that will assist your venue needs and we can provide a detailed list of recommendations for anything from décor to catering to take care of all the details.
Yes, we offer on-site bedroom accommodation for you and up to 24 guests. As well as the beautiful Bridal Suite, we have a range of beautifully appointed double, twin and family rooms, providing a comfortable stay and a full cooked breakfast in the morning.
Our kitchen facilities are completely open to be used by outside caterers and we are happy to discuss your specific needs further.
We want your day to be perfect and that includes your choice of music and entertainment. We do have partnerships with wedding DJs, please feel free to ask if you’re looking for one. We do ask that any live music or DJs adhere to local noise regulations, though we’re here to support your special day.
